The best markets in Paris: days, hours and how to get there
Updated on
Paris has more than 70 food markets, and on any morning except Monday at least one is open near you. Here is a short list for visitors, with the days and hours from our market map and the nearest metro station.
Before you go
- Open-air markets usually run from about 7am to 1:30pm or 2:30pm. Come before 11am for the best choice.
- Covered markets stay open longer, often into the evening, but close on Mondays.
- Stallholders prefer that you let them pick the fruit for you. A simple “Bonjour” goes a long way.
- Cards are widely accepted, but keep some coins.
