Planning your visit to Nancy
In Nancy, Christmas follows the rhythm of Saint Nicholas: the Grand Village on Place Charles III is only one part of a festive programme that lasts more than six weeks, from late November to the very beginning of January. It is one of the longest Christmas markets of the season.
The highlight is the big Saint Nicholas parade, scheduled for Saturday 5 December 2026. The city centre is very busy that day: if you are mainly coming for the chalets, pick another day; if you are coming for the parade, arrive early and visit the village before or after.
The village’s 2026 opening hours have not been published yet: the French page shows last year’s hours as a guide, and we will update it as soon as they are announced. Place Charles III is right in the centre, within walking distance of the station. For directions and other Christmas markets in Lorraine, open the Saveur Marché map.
