Planning your visit to Albi
In Albi, the Christmas market is spread across Place du Vigan, the Jardin National and Place Lapérouse, right in the town centre. Everything is within walking distance, so it is easy to combine the chalets with a stroll through the old town.
The market runs for more than five weeks, opening at the end of November and staying until early January, so there is time to come back after the holidays. It opens at 11am and closes at 8pm on weekdays and Sundays, and at 9pm on Fridays, Saturdays and every day during the school holidays. Special hours apply on 24, 25 and 31 December and on 1 January: see the French page or the official website for details.
With around forty chalets, many of them given over to craftspeople and local producers, plus fairground rides for children, it is a family outing on a human scale: allow one to two hours.
