Planning your visit to Lyon
Lyon’s Christmas market sets up on Place Carnot, right next to Perrache station, which makes it one of the easiest in France to reach by train. From there you can walk up into the Presqu’île and carry on through the illuminated shopping streets.
Opening times vary by day: 11am on weekdays and 10:30am at weekends, with late closing at 10pm on Fridays and Saturdays. Those evenings are the liveliest; for choosing a gift from the craft and producer chalets in comfort, a weekday afternoon is better.
Allow one to two hours on site. The 2026 edition ends on 24 December, so if you are looking for gift ideas it is best to come in the first weeks, when the choice is widest. For the day’s opening times, the exact address and directions, open the market’s page on the Saveur Marché map, which also shows the other Christmas markets in the Lyon area.
