Planning your visit to Lille
In Lille, everything can be done on foot: the Christmas Village on Place Rihour, the Grand-Place and its big wheel are a few minutes apart. The easiest way to arrive is by metro (Rihour station, line 1) or by train, as Lille-Flandres and Lille-Europe stations are close by.
The village opens every day at 11am. It closes at 8:30pm from Sunday to Thursday and at 10pm on Fridays and Saturdays. Those two late evenings are ideal for an after-work stroll but also the busiest: to browse the chalets in peace, choose a weekday afternoon.
Note two special dates: the village closes earlier on 24 December and stays closed on 25 December. The big wheel keeps turning long after the chalets have closed, until mid-January, with tickets sold on site. Entry to the village is free; you only pay for purchases and rides.
