Planning your visit to Colmar

Colmar’s Christmas markets are spread over six sites in the historic centre, all a few minutes’ walk from one another. Rather than looking for “the” market, plan a loop: the old town is small, and wandering from one square to the next is part of the pleasure, especially at dusk when the façades light up.

December weekends are the busiest. If you can, come on a weekday, when the markets open from 11am to 7pm, leaving time for a relaxed visit before dinner. On Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, they stay open from 10am to 8pm.

If you are driving, several paid covered car parks surround the centre, and on some weekends a park-and-ride with a free shuttle helps ease the traffic.
